Built around Text Twist's actual rules, not a generic word list
Text Twist has one rule that a lot of general word finders miss: results have to be at least 3 letters long. A plain unscrambler will happily show you 2-letter words like "at" or "in," but those don't count toward anything in Text Twist itself. This tool filters them out from the start, so every result you see is actually usable in the game.
The other thing worth knowing is that finding lots of short words doesn't advance you. Text Twist specifically requires the longest word, the one using every letter in your round, before you can move to the next level. If your goal is progressing rather than just racking up points, scan the longest results first.
Under time pressure, a practical approach is working backward from length: check the full-length word first since finding it early removes the risk of running out of time before you qualify, then fill in shorter words with whatever time remains.
Since the game runs on a 2-minute clock, speed matters more here than in most of the tools on this site. Matching happens instantly in your browser with no server delay, which is exactly what you want when seconds are the constraint.
How it works
Enter the 6 or 7 scrambled letters shown in your game, in any order.
That's the one you need to advance, so it's worth checking before anything shorter.
Every valid 3+ letter word is listed, grouped by length, so you can pick off the remaining board quickly.
Common questions
Why does this tool require 3-letter minimum words instead of 2?
Because that's the actual Text Twist rule. Unlike our general Word Unscrambler, which allows 2-letter results, Text Twist only counts words of 3 letters or longer, so this tool filters the same way.
What's the word I actually need to advance to the next round?
The longest one. Text Twist requires finding at least one word that uses every letter you were given (6 or 7, depending on the round) before you can move on, no matter how many shorter words you've already found.
Does it matter if I've already used the game's Twist shuffle button?
No, shuffling only changes the display order of your letters in the game itself. The letters and possible words stay exactly the same, so it has no effect on what this tool returns.
Can this handle both 6-letter and 7-letter rounds?
Yes. Just type however many letters your round gives you (the tile row supports up to 10), and results scale automatically.
Does it work for Text Twist 2 as well as the original?
Both use the same core mechanic (finding 3+ letter words from a scrambled set), so this tool works for either version. Text Twist 2 allows a 7-letter challenge mode, which this tool also supports.
Why do I see fewer results here than a general unscrambler for the same letters?
Because 2-letter words are excluded here, matching Text Twist's actual rules. If you want to see those too, our general Word Unscrambler allows them.
Is there a bonus word I should look for?
Some versions of the game include a hidden 'bingo word' worth extra points beyond the standard set. This tool shows every valid word it finds; spotting which one counts as the bonus is part of the in-game challenge.
